WHO SHOULD REGISTER FOR THIS PROGRAMME
This programme will be useful to those who provide a basic level of support and assistance to learners about their learning and assessment needs.

WHAT WILL I LEARN
You will be able to provide basic support and assistance to learners in terms of issues such as:
• Learning programme content.
• Structure of learning programmes.
• Admission requirements and exit level outcomes.
• Learning contracts.
• Approaches to learning and assessment.
• Career progression options within the occupation.
• Typical learning or personal difficulties experienced by learners.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
You need to have been exposed to education, training and development environments and practices.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
A total of 50 notional hours is allocated to this course comprising of classroom based training and work-based learning.

IS THE PROGRAMME ACCREDITED
Open Learning Group is an accredited provider of the ETDP SETA. Our learning content for the programme is approved by the SETA.

WHAT UNIT STANDARDS ARE COVERED
This NQF Level 4 programme comprises of 1 unit standard – US117865: Assist and support learners to manage their learning experiences.

WHAT DO I GET ON COMPLETION
You will be required to complete various assessments during the course and will complete a Portfolio of Evidence that will be assessed. When you are found competent on all the specific outcomes required, you will be provided with a National Certificate issued by the ETDP SETA.

WHAT WILL BE ASSESSED

• How to maintain a database of information.
• Activities and techniques for providing information to learners
• Employment services centres and counseling centres available in the region.
• Knowing who to refer learners to, when and why.
• Techniques for reflecting on practice and integrating lessons learned into future practice.
• Forms of practice, which promote the values described in the Bill of Rights and the principles underpinning the Employment Equity Act.
• How to keep records of support and information provided to learners.
